  Thallus pale fawn, thin, smooth, slightly glossy. Ascomata inconspicuous, black, open, simple or branched, straight, curved or in substellate clusters, immersed to subsessile, 0.5–1.5 mm long, 0.15–0.30 mm wide, with a conspicuous thalline margin, lacking a proper exciple. Disc black, frequently white-pruinose. Hymenium 80–110 µm thick, not inspersed. Ascospores 8 per ascus, pale brown, 4-locular, 15–22 (–25) × 6–9 µm.
CHEMISTRY: Norstictic acid.
     
  A widely distributed, corticolous species in south-eastern Qld and eastern N.S.W.; also in the Caribbean region, South America, India, Thailand, the Philippines and the Solomon Islands.
